A gem is not polished without friction, nor man perfected without trials.
(Chinese Proverb)
Most people who know me personally do not know about my painful past. They are
quite surprised to learn that I once struggled with tremendous self-doubt, self-hatred and
the belief that I just did not deserve to live.
I developed depression because I believed bad thoughts about myself. These pages
explain how easy it was for me to develop these bad thoughts and how they kept my self
esteem low.
It can be difficult for you to read these pages if it touches some part of your own
life.
I hope these disclosures lead you to understand why I take the issue of self esteem so
seriously.
And if you are feeling down right now, please remember this:
No matter how depressed you feel or hopeless life seems, there is an alternative.
Depression is something you can control and overcome. It is your right to have high
self esteem and to be happy.
